Building the New Integrated Mass Student, Youth-Led

Civil Rights/Immigrant Rights Movement to —

Defend public education from Pre-K through college

• No more charters
• Arne Duncan must go
• No more fee/tuition hikes, layoffs, furloughs, or program cuts in public higher education.
• Stop the privatization of public education.

Defeat the new Jim Crow

• No more separate and unequal K-12 education
• Stop the re-segregation of higher education
• Pass the Dream Act now
• Defend and restore affirmative action, school desegregation, and metropolitan-wide magnet school programs

[Advocate] Full rights for all immigrants, documented and undocumented

• Overturn Arizona's anti-immigrant SB 1070
• Education, not deportation: Make every school and university a sanctuary campus
• Stop the racial targeting of immigrant communities
• End the raids and deportations

Defend and build an independent union movement

• Stop relying on the politicians to defend our rights
• Unite the labor movement with the new independent civil rights/immigrants movement to defend our living standards and create more union-wage-level jobs
• Use public money to create public works and jobs, not to enhance the profit margins of the private sector
• Build independent militant union struggles to organize the unorganized, including undocumented workers

Create a national and international policy to address climate change and to prevent the devastation created by global warming (This topic discussed at length at this Conference)
