Vigil, Procession, Press Conference, Washington, D.C.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 16, 1-4 p.m.
CIA DRONE PROTEST, CIA Headquarters, Langley, VA

END U.S. WARS is “a new coalition of antiwar organizations, peace and justice advocates, and citizens of conscience challenging elected leaders to end U.S. wars of aggression in Afghanistan and Iraq and bring U.S. troops home.”

Led in the belief that “nonviolence is the best method for producing and securing peace in the United States and the world,” the group calls for “active non-violent non-cooperation with U.S. war policy” and commits to “mass political mobilization, high-profile antiwar non-violent political actions,” which engage and energize “disablers of War-Party mentality” and “break the cycle of hopelessness.”

END U.S. WARS calls for

Rejection of “any troop surge in Afghanistan
Immediate “cease-fire in Afghanistan and Iraq”
Return home of “all U.S. troops in the fastest way consistent with the safety of U.S. forces”
End of “Predator drone strikes that kill civilians”
End of “all covert CIA and private ‘black’ operations in Pakistan and elsewhere”
End of “extraordinary renditions”
“Shut down all CIA ‘black sites’ (secret prisons) once and for all”
End of “torture of any kind”
“Treatment of all detainees in accordance with Geneva Conventions”
“Closing the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba”
Investigation and prosecution of “all war crimes to the fullest extent”
