Bona fides in politics and human rights:
Physician and former gubernatorial
contender Jill Stein advocates at Physicians
for Social Responsibility;
Lawyer and former mayor Rocky Anderson advocates
at High Road for Human Rights
Editing and comment by Carolyn Bennett
Do not let yourselves be bamboozled into believing that there are but two or (is) one pretending to be two sets
of ideas worthy of hearing.
If you believe your choices in the 2012 U.S.
campaign for the presidency are limited to singular or barely plural options,
you are mistaken.
Better to imagine something BETTER, reach out, research, uproot the
entrenched same ole, no matter how it is packaged.
Prepare and vote the BETTER you hope for instead of the
lies you are handed.

In their own words, Jill Stein and Rocky Anderson merit your hearing.
JILL STEIN’S GREEN NEW DEAL • GREEN NEW DEAL • GREEN NEW DEAL
“The more people see that phrase, the more they’ll wonder what it is
and the better chance we have at forcing it into the political discourse!”
Stein’s ideas in debate
UNEMPLOYMENT
Jill Stein’s Green New Deal includes a Full Employment Program that
will create 25 million jobs by implementing a nationally funded, but locally
controlled direct employment initiative replacing unemployment offices with
local employment offices. (http://bit.ly/PtTrhv)
It is time to end unemployment
Time to transition to a green economy
Time for a Green New Deal! (http://bit.ly/PtTrhv#debate)
FORECLOSURE CRISIS
JillStein2012’s Green New Deal includes an immediate halt to all
foreclosures and evictions (http://bit.ly/PtTrhv#debate)
TAX REFORM
Jill Stein’s Green New Deal would establish a 90 percent tax on bonuses
for bailed out bankers. (#presidentialdebatehttp://bit.ly/PtTrhv)
Jill Stein’s Green New Deal will break up oversized banks that are ‘too
big to fail’ and establish a 90 percent tax on bonuses for bailed out bankers. (#debate)
HEALTH CARE REFORM
The Green New Deal equals quality health care through a single-payer
Medicare-for-All program. (#VoteGreen #debatehttp://bit.ly/PtTrhv)
STUDENT LOANS
Jill Stein’s Green New Deal includes the right to a tuition-free,
quality, federally funded, locally controlled public education system from
pre-school through college.
Forgive student loan debt from the current era of unaffordable college
education. (“If we can bail out bankers, we can bail out students!” JillStein2012’s
Green New Deal would solve the student loan crisis! (#debate)

by regulating derivatives and forming public-owned banks. (#debate)

ROCKY ANDERSON
Drawing moral line
“If you can draw your line at embezzlement of government funds to pay
off the Mafia, lying about war experiences and one’s academic record, Anderson
asks —
|
Presidential candidate Rocky Anderson Vice presidential Luiz Rodriguez |
will you also draw a
moral line at assassinating U.S. citizens with no due process; imprisoning
people for up to the rest of their lives without charges, trial, legal
assistance or the right of habeas corpus; killing innocent men, women, and
children in other nations, creating more hatred and hostility toward the United
States
The President, not the Supreme Court, Rocky Anderson says to those
fearing new appointments to the U.S. high court, “is shredding the
Constitution, the rule of law, and human and civil rights.”
The President, not the Supreme Court, “is refusing to apply the law to the
rich and powerful (Wall Street fraudsters), war criminals (Bush, Cheney,
Rumsfeld and others who approved or perpetrated torture), and those who engaged
in felonious spying on U.S. citizens’ communications.”
The President, not the Supreme Court, “is targeting U.S. citizens for
assassination without due process.

The President, not the Supreme Court, “has asked for and signed into
law a bill providing the authority to round up people (including U.S. citizens)
and have them imprisoned for up to the rest of their lives with no charges, no
trial, no legal assistance, and no right of habeas corpus.
The President, not the Supreme Court, “is sitting around in the oval
office deciding who will be killed by drones in at least four other nations
(without the consent of and in violation of those nations’ sovereignty). Doing
this with full knowledge that hundreds if not thousands of innocent men, women,
and children will die in the process.”
Anderson promises:
I can to restore the
rule of law, an effective system of checks and balances, due process, the
constitutional limits of war-making power, and the right to be free from
governmental tyranny and horrendous civil and human rights abuses committed
during the George W. Bush/Barack Obama administrations.
Rocky Anderson urges U.S. voters to “Draw your own moral line.” And
after all is said and done, Anderson says, “let us keep up the fight in a
broad-based people’s movement for restoring democracy.”
