Andrey Klimov
Paul Abelsky said in his review of Andrey Klimov’s A Russian MP: The Insider’s Notes, “The
book’s real contribution is an attempt to articulate both Russia’s distinctive
historical path and to encourage the country’s citizens to take responsibility
for its future. Ultimately, the working model Klimov proposes hinges on
mobilizing a national consensus, a consolidation of the federal center and the
regions, the political elite and other classes. Only this attitude will help
Russia grow more introspective, enabling it to face the century’s new
challenges.” He came of age “during Perestroika”, entered politics in 1990, and is currently a member of Russia’s parliament, the State Duma. Andrey Klimov was trained as an economist.
